There was a time when I said yes to absolutely anyone who wanted to work with me. After all, why would I turn down money? As it turns out, there are actually lots of good reasons to do so! If a prospective client’s values don’t align with mine, if they’re looking for a service that’s outside my skillset, or if our expectations for our working relationship are poles apart, the project will be stressful and the results disappointing.
Why put either of us through that?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond grateful to everyone who chose me as their writer, even when it didn’t turn out to be the right fit. Being trusted with your vision is an honour, and I’ve learned something from absolutely every person and business I’ve worked with.
But I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m at peace with the fact that I’m not for everyone. Nowadays I want every client to feel absolutely confident I’m the right writer for them before hiring me. If it’s not a “hell yes!”, it’s a no.

A lot of people don’t realise what a skilled writer is worth until they hire a bad one.
You could probably go to a content mill or generic freelance site and find someone who’ll quote you a tenth of what I charge. If all you want is filler, fair enough. If you want results, though, going dirt-cheap is a false economy. And, a bit like paying a skilled hairstylist to rescue that botched home dye-job, you’ll end up paying more to fix bad copy than if you’d just hired a true pro the first time around.
I have a BA and an MSc in Creative Writing, and at the time of writing am likely a few short months away from having a PhD. I’ve been writing since I was a child, and have invested thousands of hours into getting as good as I am.
I’ll never overcharge you, either. My rates are based on my skill, experience, expertise, and the value I can bring to your business. If you want the cheapest, I’m not for you. If you want the quality your business deserves, you probably won’t find it on Fiverr. But you will find it here.

While I’m open to rush projects in some circumstances, I believe that the best creative work takes a little time. I’m not a content mill and I’m not ChatGPT, and I prefer to work with clients who understand that a reasonable timescale will produce better material than churning work out as fast as possible.
